The National Education Policy (NEP 2020) has laid a great emphasis in creating “...holistic and complete individuals equipped with key 21st century skills”. The NEP 2020 also mentions that “Cognitive skills and HoTS - Higher Order Thinking abilities like - Analytical Thinking, Active Learning, Creativity,
Critical Thinking, Logical Reasoning & Complex Problem Solving are so critical throughout their
school years and indeed throughout life”. As an organization that has committed itself to
enhancing these skills in children, we believe that the first step towards this is to know where our
children stand in each of these skills.
The outcome of this thought resulted in developing an online video puzzle-based assessment tool
to measure Cognitive and Thinking Skills in our students this year. Hence was born the HOTSAT -
Higher Order Thinking Skills Aptitude Test.
The HOTSAT - Higher Order Thinking Skills Aptitude Test is a curriculum independent, Thinking Skills based assessment for students in Grades 3 to 8.
The HOTSAT, a gamified video puzzle based assessment tool, has been designed by experts with a view to measure the current levels of Cognitive and Higher Order Thinking Skills in children.
The HOTSAT is an internationally administered assessment to compare students’ performance globally, between grades and over time.
The HOTSAT is skill-based and they do not follow any single national curiculum, allowing students from all countries to be compared fairly.
The HOTSAT is for students in Grades 3 to 8
The HOTSAT report enables schools to understand current skill levels of their students in comparison to other students in their school, their state, country, and in other countries around the world.
